The Banyan Tree

Alamara The Banyan Tree is the national tree of our country. In the olden days and in villages, the banyan tree is the centre of life; it is the ‘seat’ of government for villages. It symbolizes family, home, community and communication. Banyan trees enjoy a long life and are considered immortal. These trees are considered sacred symbolising the knowledge and enlightenment and hence honoured by people in India. The tree lives for hundreds of years as new shoots grows from branches to ground; its crown spreads majestically offering shelter to the working formers, travellers and is laden with fruit, offering a habitat for wildlife.
Wish of the parents of persons with developmental disabilities like autism is that the proposed Activities – the Residential care Centre, Day care and pre Vocational training, Day School, Early Intervention centres etc shall be an immortal ongoing shelter spreading the many branches for the persons with developmental disabilities.
